Does that sound a little dramatic? Do you hear yourself saying; "My vote doesn't count?" Do you like the way our country is heading? Do you think America has a brighter future?

Let me tell you what Tea Party Patriots from all over the country are saying. They are saying that we can change the course of the country for the better with this election. That is, if YOU vote.

In Nevada County, only 37% of registered voters filled out a ballot. That is pathetic! How can anyone complain about the problems we face and not vote?

We have prepared our recommendations on all the propositions, which are based on our mission statement.

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS DO NOT ENDORSE CANDIDATES

There are people that want us to endorse or oppose candidates. It will not happen. You need to do your own research and decide which candidate is fiscally responsible, believes in a limited government, free markets and has respect for the Constitution and Bill of Rights and will answer to the people.

The reason we will not endorse a candidate is simple. Once we endorse a candidate, they don't need us anymore. What if that candidate changes what they promised us for our endorsement? We are stuck with that person and their decisions. It's not worth the risk to our reputation as being non-partisan.

When candidates ask for our endorsement, we tell them that we expect them to endorse the Tea Party Patriots and our mission statement. If you want to endorse any candidate, you are entitled to due so as every citizen has the right to do.

The Board of Directors of your Tea Party Patriots encourages you to use your most sacred right as a citizen of the great nation. Be sure to vote!

9/12 RALLY IN SACRAMENTO

There is an important event coming up on September 12th. It's our Sacramento Tea Party Patriots Rally. Last year it was held at our state capitol. This year it will be held at the McClellan Business Park. One of the reasons it's going to be held there is that this is a multiple state event that includes California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Arizona. This location can handle the very large crowds that we expect. They also have a hotel on the site and plenty of $5 parking. See details in the flyer here

We have also ordered busses for our Nevada County people to take you there and back. If you are interested in taking a bus, please email us at elaine@mecklermail.com Send us your name, number of tickets you wish to order, and your phone number. The cost for round-trip tickets will be $20. More information on the busses will follow.

AUGUST LUNCH MEETING

Our next $5 lunch will be held on Friday, August 27th at the Grass Valley Elks Lodge. Our guest speaker is Steve Greenhut, the Director of the Pacific Research Institute. He is an author and well-known speaker. It will be another very interesting luncheon.

Remember, this is your organization. Your contributions in time and money are what keep us strong and growing, and we need both. If you can volunteer a couple of hours a week, it helps a lot. If you can contribute any amount of money, that helps us put on these great events and pays for the literature that we hand out, and advertising. November elections are coming up fast. This may be the most important election of our lifetime. We have seen "changes" that are undermining the heart and soul of our country. Government entities from local through federal are ramming through legislation that every poll shows that, we the people, do not want. Taxes are skyrocketing and unemployment continues to rise at alarming rates. We all know someone who is out-of-work, who has a business that is failing or has failed, and we fear for the future of our children and grandchildren.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has recently reported that the country's growing debt is unsustainable. Is anyone listening?

We must stop this madness! How can we do it?

First, everyone must become more involved. Your NCTPP needs your help as a volunteer. Spare us a couple of hours per week. Is that really asking too much? We have asked for you to volunteer at the upcoming Fair to help us man our booth. That's an immediate need! Please contact us at elaine@meckler.com and Elaine will set up a time that is convenient for you.

Second, attend every event that your Tea Party presents. They are fun and informative and, again, take very little of your time.

Lastly, and most important, become a candidate for one of the local boards to help influence the decision making process.

We are only as strong as your participation. We all became part of this great organization because we didn't like the direction the country was headed. Our voices weren't being heard. Now they are! Citizens around the country have run for public offices and won because they have expressed a belief in the Tea Party mission statement. We now know that the people are listening and voting. These elections are a very strong message to our un-repetitive representatives.

We have researched all the propositions on the November ballot and put together our recommendations that are based on our mission statement of Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government, Free Markets, Respect for the Constitution and Bill of Rights and a Government that answers to the People.
